The small print
Editorial policy
Where the figures on myalestor.com come from, what we will not claim about the strip, and how to report a mistake.
The people who run Alestor write every page on myalestor.com. Here is how a figure gets onto a page.
Figures about the strip
Outlet count, USB output, joule rating, the 1875-watt load rating, cord gauge, cord lengths and the size of the housing are taken from our own product data. A figure we do not publish, such as a clamping voltage or a response time, is not printed here, and we do not estimate it.
The photographs show our own strip in the three finishes we sell. Pictures with slogans, arrows or figures printed over them stay off the site, and the film on the home page is cut from our own footage.
What we do not claim
We do not say the strip protects against every surge, makes an old outlet safe, or can carry a space heater. A joule figure is an energy rating, and the surge industry itself warns that joule figures from different makers are hard to compare, which is why our guide on joules explains the label rather than ranking strips by it. Where a page talks about fire, heaters or cords, it names the source, and the source is linked from our guides.
Corrections
If a figure, a price or a sentence here is wrong, write to outlets@myalestor.com. We fix the page and the product data behind it.
